Hi, My name is Candy and I am fundraising for Skip Eckhardt, Ricky and Jay Young. We are swallowing our pride to ask for help today. Sadly Dar has passed away. This is both devastating and unexpected. On Skips bday (March 13) Dar started to complain of stomach problems and on April 21st she was gone. That's how quickly this went, Cancer took our Dar in a matter of 6 weeks. During these 6 weeks, Dar got weaker by the day. We watched Skip stand by her side day and night from brushing her hair to carrying her to the car so he could bring her to our home to be with her family for Easter and her granddaughter's 25th birthday dinner to laying with her all night to make sure she was ok never getting proper sleep. We also spoke to Dar about her wishes which were no Funeral and to have a celebration of life for her. She also told us of her insurance policy that she has had for over 17 years so that if anything happened to her that her boys (Ricky and Jay) plus Skip of course did not have to worry about paying for the funeral. Unfortunately, when Dar passed and it was time to contact the insurance and hand in the death certificate, they told us she has accidental insurance only. Skip then called the city to ask for help and they told him it was too late as the city will only help if you have not made any arrangements and of course the arrangements had already been made. None of us were ready for any of this. I know it's a very hard world right now and not too many people are in a place financially to be able to help but if you can help with anything at all it would be greatly appreciated to bring Dar home and if you cannot help, we totally understand. In conclusion, I hope this educates anyone and everyone on what to do if you lose a loved one suddenly so you do not end up in the same position that we are in.
