My brother was diagnosed with cancer two years ago. He had prostate cancer. He was doing well and unfortunately his insurance got cut off by his job. In December 2022 he was no longer getting treatment due to no insurance and treatment was too expensive. His wife tried raising money for his treatment but to no avail very few people donated. My brothers life span was become shorter as the months progressed. On March 24, 2022 He was admitted to the hospital due to severe pain in his body and serious inflammation. Unfortunately at this point the cancer became terminal. Stage 4 is what the doctor in charge over seeing my brother had later on explained. The weeks came to fast and my brothers final words to me where "I'm scared I don't want to die" "Hey sis do you think I'm going to die" of corse as heart breaking I felt I gave my brother a peace of mind and hope. Little did I know the man whom have raised me like a father and loved me like his daughter. The last day I would speak to him would be April 15, 2023. I had left for an out of town trip (Coach Bus Operator) 6 days (April 17-22, 2023). On April 16, 2023 his wife called me with devastating news. My brother the once strong and courageous loving man he was had gone into a coma. Ofcorse I went into denial and offered his wife anything to help my brother get better. I called every other day to check on my brother and even told the nurse to let my brother know I will be there to see him Sunday (April 23, 2023). When I had arrived back from the work trip and went to see my beloved brother he was in life support. I have been through very difficult times before but nothing prepared me for this. The man whom some day would cross me on a wedding isle, be the most amazing uncle to exist, my anchor who built me since a baby to be the strong woman I am was dying. I always imagine him to live a long life filled with joy, happiness and health. My brother had a very rough start in life and I couldn't understand Why? Him. He was kind, generous, funny, honest and sincere. He treated others with respect and gave everyone the benefit of doubt. He would extend to those in need and always had an ear to listen to. He was wise and compassionate towards others because he knew and understood people. I had promised my brother in his coma to be there on his last breath. I had the honor to pray for him read Bible scripture and sooth his mind as he took his final breath April 24, 2023. My heart broken but I know we will see each other again. His birthday was April 28, 2023 he would have been 53 years old. Now unfortunately due to financial difficulties we are asking those around us even those you may know to help us donate to my brothers funeral cost. Anything helps at this point it doesn't have to be huge. But I figured if I get 850 people to donate $20 it will help my family give my brother a decent funeral that he definitely deserves.
