Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

As we are grieving and coming to terms with the loss of an incredible father, friend and grandfather - we are faced with the reality of the expenses associated with his memorial service.

This GoFundMe has been created to honor the memory of my father, Marcel Emill Gonyeau.

My father is well known to so many people. He grew up with his six siblings in the Fillmore and Sunnyside Neighborhood. He attended Archbishop Riordan High School and played Basketball and Football, all the while making great lifetime friends. He had several jobs from being a Bouncer at several night spots throughout his life, to Security at several hotels and then Head Maintenance Engineer for several Property Management Companies. The man always had a side hustle, from DJ gigs, to house & car repairs, to flipping houses. His Harleys too were another favorite pass-time. The biggest hobby he had was Softball and that was one of his true passions besides watching his boys play sports. He was an incredible, caring and respected man. He had a heart of Gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a proud devoted father and loving grandfather. When ‘Big daddy’ , ‘Pops’, ‘Cel’ cared for you, you felt it. He loved his friends and family and would do anything for them.

We are hoping to raise funds to cover the costs of his final arrangements, including a memorial service, and any other related expenses.

Any contribution, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and will go a long way in helping us honor my father's memory. We understand that times are tough for many people, even if you are unable to contribute financially, we ask that you keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
