Support Amies battle against endometriosis

Hi Everyone, my name is Amie, and I'm a 29-year-old woman living with a chronic autoimmune disease called endometriosis for the past 15 years.

Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus forms in other areas of the body, attaching itself to organs. Symptoms include heavy periods, vomiting, muscle spasms, migraines, painful urination and bowel movements, as well as severe leg, lower back, and abdominal pain.

I first experienced these symptoms at the age of 14 but was not diagnosed until I was 19. By that time, the disease had advanced to stage 3 of 4.

Endometriosis is a debilitating disease that has stopped me from living any sort of "normal" life. At only 29 years old, I find daily tasks practically impossible to complete due to agonizing pain. My monthly cycle causes me so much pain that it causes me to vomit and sometimes even lose consciousness. Because of all of this, I can’t hold down a job, maintain any sort of social life and I rely on the support of loved ones to help care for my miracle 5-year-old son, Harry.

Over the last year it has gotten so much worse. During a recent hospital appointment I was informed that my ovaries and fallopian tubes are so severely damaged and twisted that they will possibly need to be removed. My kidneys are also under serious pressure resulting in severe fluid retention, To receive this kind of news at such a young age is not only heart breaking but has also taken a massive toll on my mental health.

Until now, I felt hopeless that I would ever receive the help I need. However, I recently connected with an amazing specialist who has advised that he can perform the excision surgery I desperately need on the 27th of June this year, This surgery removes endometrial tissue from the root and can provide relief from this terrible disease for up to 5 years. The specialist is also hopeful that he may be able to save my ovaries and fallopian tubes.

This was the news I so desperately wanted and needed to hear, but the reality is that the cost of this surgery is far beyond what I can afford.

I am desperate to regain some semblance of a normal life, not only for myself but also for myamazing little boy. That's why I am asking for your support. If you are in any position to help, no matter how small, please consider donating. From the bottom of my heart, on behalf of myself and my little boy Harry, thank you for your kindness and generosity.
