First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported us on our journey.

I am Karolina, the proud owner of The Honey Hut, a charming cake bakery/café located in Green Park Station. At The Honey Hut, we take great pleasure in filling our shelves with freshly baked cakes and traybakes, delighting our customers with new recipes and creating personalized birthday cakes. Since our opening in October 2020, we have faced numerous challenges, but with your support, we have persevered.

Our journey has not been without obstacles. We endured the trials of the second and third lockdowns, but we also faced difficulties with the Green Park Station roof. During the third lockdown safety concerns led to the closure of the station’s car park, affecting our business. However, with the installation of netting in October 2021, we were overjoyed to resume trading without any disruptions. Our bright yellow tables and chairs, adorned with red pillows, created a welcoming atmosphere for our customers, fostering a sense of community among all the traders.

Unfortunately, our joy was short-lived. In February 2022, a powerful gust of wind caused the Green Park Station glass roof to slice off, forcing us to close once again. For 15 long months, we patiently waited for the repairs to be completed. The reopening brought immense relief and excitement, knowing we could fully serve our beloved customers once again. However, those 15 months of closure took a toll on our business. We lost a significant number of customers, and Green Park Station’s popularity as a street food destination diminished. Nonetheless, we refused to surrender our dreams. We explored alternative avenues to keep The Honey Hut alive. We participated in local markets, supplied our baked goods to other cafes, offered cake deliveries, and catered to small events. Our carrot cake, Red Velvet cake, Brownies, Flapjacks and sausage rolls became well-known favourites among our loyal patrons. It was heartwarming to witness the anticipation and enthusiasm from customers eager to enjoy our creations at local markets.

Just as we were regaining our momentum, disaster struck once more. On the morning of April 23rd, 2023, a fire engulfed Green Park Station. Thanks to the heroic efforts of firefighters, the fire was contained, and no one was harmed. While The Honey Hut was spared from fire damage, the threat of water damage looms. Accepting the reality that I have lost everything has been a painful process. My job, my means to support my children, and the dream that I poured my heart and soul into, a dream my children believed in as well, all vanished in an instant.

In this time of need, I humbly ask for help. Your support would be invaluable in helping me rebuild and reopen The Honey Hut, reigniting the dream that has been temporarily extinguished. Although our landlord is diligently working on the repairs, the timeline remains uncertain, ranging from few months to a year. Your generous support will be used to help us rebuild and reopen The Honey Hut in a new location while Green Park Station undergoes repairs.
