3v3 Charity HS Tournament for Special Needs Hockey
Hi, I’m James Murphy, a junior at Fairfield Prep and I’m a hockey player. I’ve played hockey my entire life and have many great memories from it.
Ever since freshman year I’ve been a mentor for Southern Connecticut Storm Special Hockey, a non-profit whose mission is to provide children and young adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to play ice hockey.
Being a mentor is something that I look forward to each week and have for the past several years. I love being able to share my passion for the sport with kids and adults so that they can experience being part of a team and knowing the feeling of inclusivity that comes with it.
I want to make an even bigger impact so I’ve created a 3 vs 3 hockey tournament with all proceeds being donated to the CT Storm Special Hockey Program.
Our goal is to raise at least $5,000 dollars in order to pay the full tuition cost for 10 players for 1 season. Any amount you are able to contribute will help provide these players with access to this sport that can be so important for building self-confidence.
Also, please help me spread the word to any families you know where the sport of hockey has been important to them. Thank you!
