Sienna’s 20th Birthday Memorial Fund

To honor what would have been Sienna’s 20th birthday on this May 2nd we decided to begin to raise funds to build one more Sienna school in Guatemala. The Sienna Project, started by Marlin’s father and step-mother and brother has already built 12 schools in the Mayan villages near Chichicastenango where Marlin’s brother, Derek, lives. The program was put on hold after the untimely death of our friend, and leader of the project, Laura Hailey Butler, and the pandemic.

In order to build another school we will need to raise approximately $30,000, and get a group of at least 15 volunteers to join us on this extraordinary adventure. We are tentatively planning on spring break (mid-March) 2024 for the trip.

To honor Sienna’s 20th birthday we are suggesting donations of $20, or more to get us started.

Please message me if you’d like to be added to a list of potential volunteers. Trip costs will be somewhere around $1,000 per person, and each person will also be required to donate/fundraise approximately $1,500 as well.
