After running a marathon in October 2018, I said I'd never run another one and I guess that is still the case because I'm not just running a marathon in March 2019, I'm running an ultramarathon. That's 50 kilometers or 31.0686 miles to be exact.
It took some poking and prodding from some of my family members but they convinced me to join them in Stillwater, OK for the Land Run this spring which is sure to push me beyond the limits of my current ability. Maybe it's the military discipline in me or maybe there is just something in me that likes pain--either way, the clock is quickly ticking toward March 16, 2019 and my training is under way.
The difference however between this ultramarathon and my October marathon is that I get to run for someone else other than me. I am dedicating this run to Dan and Meghan Watt who have been called into full time ministry to the military community. They have faithfully followed the call that God placed on their lives and through this campaign, I hope to raise enough support to carry them into ministry with a solid foundation.
