Hello, My name is Vanessa Concepcion. I am a wife and mother, my husband and I have been together for 17 years, married for 9. William, our son (age 9 almost 10), is an amazing, loving, smart kid who is obsessed with sports. But has had to endure more than any kid his age should have to. William was 2 when we got the shock of a lifetime that he had had a stroke and had full right-side hemiplegia. Shortly after this, he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.
Since his diagnosis, this kid has been through countless procedures/surgeries for heel cord lengthening, years of OT and PT, has a leg and arm cast, and is in and out of the doctors 1-2 times a week. Because William's whole right side was affected he has a right eye stigmatism, had issues with hearing, and had to get tubes due to excessive fluid. William had his adenoids removed as well when getting tubes. Due to his leg brace, we have to buy two different-sized shoes, which can get expensive.
We are a family of 4, my husband, me, William, and our dog Loki. We are not the type of people who ask for help but have come to learn that it is okay sometimes. All of the money raised through this GoFundMe will go to all of the expenses related to Williams's care, medical equipment, medical bills, and any future expenses that will come up as William will be having another procedure on his leg at the beginning of May. Due to this, I will have to miss a lot of work coming up to take him to therapists and other appointments. We are so thankful for everyone who reached out about us making this, especially our work family who have been so supportive, we love you all.
Thank you all for the love and support
