30yr recover medically after open heart surgery

Hello my name is Kalli...

I'm doing on behalf of my husband Corey and our family.

Back in July of 2022 Corey came home in the evening after working as car technician, he played around with our three large dogs, we ate dinner together, and then he went to take a shower. After his shower my husband went to grab his clothes from the closet and felt as though he was going to vomit. Corey felt sick until the next day and we made the decision to take him to the Emergency room. The nurses put him on an iv to help clear dehydration but after multiple bags and a few scans it was discovered that at only 30yrs old my husband had suffered two strokes in the lower sarablem of his brain; besides the vomiting there were no signs of numbness, sluring of speech, headache, or loss of mobility. That alone scared us and put financial strain as he was out of work and my job was extremely part time. Corey is in the Air Force Reserves and do to his medical has been unable to fulfill the duties he has wanted to so badly. As Corey, myself, and our families have tried to navigate this unexpected road we have found ourselves on which has definitely been scary and painful; the financial strain is leaving us even more stressed. We are not a couple that like asking for financial help but don't really know what else to do.

Corey was cleared by neurologist so we moved onto cardiology as a possible cause for the strokes. Although the specialists, doctors, and nurses can not 100% say that they've found the cause (as there was no residual side effects or internal evidence) through exploration found a binine tumor in the right side of his heart. The mass called Myxoma could have possibly slowed blood flow enough it was able to clot and go through the small hole he happen to have in his heart then traveled up to his brain.

The results of this finding has brought us to the current situation we are in now which is open heart surgery to remove the mass and patch the hole. During the surgical process it has been overwhelming difficult to see him in so much pain and being unable to alleviate it. Knowing that we will be going home without knowing if insurance will cover his procedure is extremely stressful as I have since lost my job and the bills don't stop coming of course.
I am scared of falling behind in the process of his recovery and do not want to add anymore to worry or stress to his plate.

All we want is for him to focus on healing and recovering as slowly as he needs to. I know as his wife that I need to help support him through this journey but I worry that I cannot keep up with all that needs to be done.

Honestly anything will help.
How at 30yrs old can we be in this situation. . . It is hard comprehend that this is even happening to the person that works so hard, never asks for anything, and has always been my person to lean with my own health struggles.

Both our families and I wish we could take his place or simply make all the pain dissipate.

We appreciate everyone here for thoughts and prayers as well as donations going towards medical bills, groceries, rent, and home care supplies for our family.

We love you all.
