My name is Walter and on Instagram I'm known as @walterwbrady . I'm a 23 year old conceptual photographer based in Los Angeles, California. Photography is what drives me to wake up in the morning. It's not only my career but it's my passion, my life, and it's been the one thing keeping everything functioning in my life, but due to recent events that drive has been put in park for me.
Two nights ago while visiting my handicap brother that I have custody of in the hospital my car was broken into and my camera equipment was stolen. Along with that my Mac book pro which was in one of the slots in my camera back pack. Everything in my back pack equaled up to about $5k. They didn't just take my camera equipment, they took my livelihood.
My mother passed away last year in January leaving behind my 27 year Handicap brother that has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. I had to quit my job because I couldn't be gone as long as my job required me to and take care of him at the same time. I turned to my passion of photography to help keep things afloat and it's been supporting me since. Having the ability to make my own schedule and still be able to be home with him more has done wonders, until now.
I'm not one to ask for handouts. In situations like this I would usually just find a sunny place to set up a back drop outside and offer multiple head shots to street goers. Or even drop my rates half off and knock a few shoots out in one day but I can't even do that now, which is why I'm starting this GoFundMe campaign.
Every penny counts. If it's $100 down to $1 every last dime would help because I have nothing right now. If you can't donate please share this for me. I'm taking prayers too I need all the prayer I can get right now. I understand that my case isn't as severe as other campaigns but photography is my life line, and a photographer without a camera is like a surgeon without a scalpel.
