Hello everyone, I’m Mike with Cutting Edge Paintball! We’re a retail Paintball Store located in San Jose, California. We’ve been around since 2007 and have been servicing San Jose and its surrounding areas (Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito, Alameda, San Mateo & San Francisco counties) with both sales and technical support. Before us opening Cutting Edge Paintball, we all used to work for I&I Sports located in Los Gatos and South San Jose. Between working for I&I Sports, and operating Cutting Edge Paintball for over 15 years, we have a pretty good background in the sales and service of most, if not all things paintball. We fill CO2 tanks for soda machines, kegerators, aquariums, and car and motorcycle projects. In addition, we have helped the local paintball fields with repair work on their rental markers. Occasionally we also have had customers come in to see if we can help with their non-paintball needs. For example, we have helped an engineering class from Santa Clara University with part of a Rube Goldberg machine project using CO2 to propel a tiny car.
We started Cutting Edge Paintball on a shoestring budget and have done our best to continue throughout the hard times. Unfortunately, we took a pretty hard hit the last few years. The Covid-19 shutdown hurt us quite a bit by putting a huge dent in our bank account. Yes, we were able to get emergency loans, but that only held our collective heads above water for a short while. While customers still came in for the needed products, we still saw a decline in sales from the years before Covid-19. This year we saw an extensive amount of rain during the time of the year when we expect business to start to pick up. Unfortunately, when it rains, people usually don't play paintball. Between the rainy weather, losing customers to online sales and us needing to pay the bills, our funds have almost run dry. We have even used our credit and cash to purchase products to sell to try to keep the doors open.
We are running out of options to keep the doors open. This GoFundMe is something that we see as a last option. We’re hoping that we will find enough people to help us out. We might be able to keep the store open until, possibly, the end of June. If we aren’t able to raise the funds, we’ll need to close the doors. Please help us keep our doors open and in turn, help the local paintball community and others.
Thanks in advance for helping!
