Since starting 30SixPaws Animal Rescue in 2019, I need to speak honestly about where we are financially.
Over the years when animals needed help and donations were not enough, I put veterinary costs, medications, food and emergency care on credit cards so animals would not suffer or be turned away.
At the time it meant they got help immediately. But today that reality has caught up with us.
Right now the rescue is carrying $58,178.84 in credit card debt that was used to cover veterinary care and rescue expenses.
Each month the minimum payments alone total:
$991.64
Almost $962 of that is just interest.
That means more than $11,500 every year is going to interest instead of helping animals.
If only minimum payments are made, this debt could take nearly 20 years to pay off and cost well over $100,000.
I never imagined we would end up here.
But I believe in transparency, and I believe in the community that has supported 30SixPaws over the years.
Our plan is to tackle one card at a time.
The first and most expensive card is:
RBC Visa Balance: $24,310 Interest rate: 20.99%
This single card alone costs the rescue over $5,000 per year in interest.
If we can eliminate this card, we can cancel it and remove $436 per month in payments and nearly $426 per month in interest.
That would be a huge step toward stabilizing the rescue.
If you have ever supported 30SixPaws, adopted from us, fostered, volunteered, or simply believed in what we do, we are asking for help now.
Even small donations add up when many people come together.
Donations can be sent directly to
[email redacted] or donated direct through this GoFundMe
Every dollar helps reduce this burden and helps secure the future of the rescue.
Thank you for standing with us and the animals that rely on this rescue.
