Christa Gibson works as an ICU nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital. Christa and her husband Jesse were blessed with a second baby girl on November 16, 2016. Delivery went great and everyone was so happy that baby was finally here! Christa was discharged from the hospital and sent home to enjoy her time off from work with her family. Everything was perfect. Then on November 19th she started to develop some abdominal pain, which she just related to normal postpartum pain. Eventually the pain got so bad she had to go to the ER in Gulf Breeze. She was quickly transferred to Sacred Heart Hospital. Unfortunately Christa was experiencing severe septic shock. She was intubated. Heart was only working at 20%. Kidneys were starting to fail. She was/is fighting for her life. Christa is still in critical condition. Her husband Jesse has not left her side. If anyone knows Christa, you know how she is always talking about budgeting her money and worrying about taking too much time off from work for maternity leave. They never expected or planned for this to happen. Jesse is now worrying about taking care of his 2 year old and newborn baby alone. Can we all please come together and help this young family in need?
