300k Miles Later: Adam's G35 V8 Transformation
Donation protected
My name’s Adam P, and I’m a self-taught car enthusiast with a deep love for building, fabricating, and breathing new life into machines. I find it fascinating. How so many individual pieces can work together in a rhythmic harmony to perform work that works, sometimes most of the time. My current project is my Infiniti G35, which made it to an impressive 300,000 miles before the engine finally gave out. The car is too beautiful to let it go. This infiniti has served me well, and taught me a lot! It has tough me physics, mechanics, and about myself. Now it’s time for an exciting upgrade. I’m doing what Nissan should have done. I feel like this engine should have been an option from the factory for the Infiniti G 35. There’s not much information about this particular engine swap, but it has been done. It’s going to be challenging, but a lot of fun. I’ll be posting pictures along the way to share my progress.
I’m starting this GoFundMe to help fund an engine swap that’s been a dream of mine: installing a VK56DE 5.6L V8 (from the Nissan Titan/Armada) into my G35. This swap is all about creativity, determination, and doing it all myself, right here in my own garage.
I’ll be using my existing Nissan CD009 6-speed manual transmission, which bolts up nicely with the right adapter to the 5.6L V8. I’ll be fabricating custom mounts, wiring everything from scratch, and getting the components dialed in with the help of a professional tuner once the engine is installed.

Where the Funds Will Go:
• VK56DE V8 Engine
• Stand-alone ECU
• Custom Wiring Harness
• Adapter Plate for CD009 Transmission
• Custom Motor Mounts
• Custom Driveshaft
• Stainless Steel Exhaust Piping + High-Flow Mufflers
• Custom Headers (fabricated)
• Clutch & Lightweight Flywheel
• Sparco Racing Seat (for safety)
• Timing Components (chain, guides, seals)
• Freeze Plugs & Engine Refresh Parts
• Professional Dyno Tuning after install
⸻
The engine I’m sourcing won’t be brand new, so while it’s out, I’ll be refreshing it with new seals, timing components, and anything else that’s easier to handle outside the car. I’m not taking this to a shop—I’ll be doing all the work myself: engine fitting, fabrication, wiring, and more.
This is more than just a swap—this is a resurrection.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps move this project forward. And even if you can’t give, just sharing this campaign helps a ton. Thank you for supporting a grassroots garage-built dream. I can’t wait to bring this V8 G35 to life and hear it scream.
