All donations raised will be split 50/50 between the University of Manitoba Indigenous Students Association (UMISA) and Sunshine House.

The decision on where the funds allocated to UMISA will go will not be decided by me, nor by the Association itself, but rather by the Indigenous students on campus themselves .

The students will decide how that money is spent that will best suit them. Whether it is more mental health support, cultural programming, whatever they need to help them thrive.

The other 50% will be going to Sunshine House, a Winnipeg-based drop-in and resource centre focused on harm reduction, social inclusion, and community support. They provide meals, clothing, bathing facilities, foot care, referrals, cultural programming, and harm-reduction services.

This initiative is about more than raising money. It is about putting that money back into the communities that need it.
