3 Peaks for Kirsty ❤️
Thank you for taking the time to view my fundraising page.
The majority of you wouldn’t know this as we kept it very private but in October last year our world totally flipped upside down when my wonderful Wife Kirsty was diagnosed with a brain tumour. This came completely out of nowhere and changed everything literally over night. It was the saddest, most devastatingly traumatic period of our lives.
Just 4 weeks after being diagnosed Kirsty had to endure Awake Craniotomy Surgery which is as traumatic and scary as it gets! Thankfully she was operated on by two of the best Neurosurgeons in the country, in the Wellington Hospital, London. They managed to remove her tumour completely.
The bravery, strength, courage and resilience my beautiful Wife showed throughout was simply incredible!
We shall forever be grateful to the handful of close friends and family members who knew and will never forget what they did for us when we needed them the most. It truly helped a great deal, more than they will ever know.
On 7th September, I am therefore, along with some good friends, taking on the 3 highest peaks in the UK, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon. I will be attacking it to the absolute max and aim to summit and complete all 3 in less than 24 hours (including travelling between each mountain). The challenge involves trekking over 26 miles, ascending (and descending!) with a total ascent of 9,800 feet (3,000 metres) on very little sleep and all at a quick pace.
I am looking to raise a huge amount of money for the Brain Storm charity in the hope that one day they will find a cure, www.brainstormcharity.co.uk. This is a charity nominated by Kirsty’s surgeon that funds research into the type of tumour Kirsty had. Please help us with whatever you can!
Thank you so much.
