National 3 peaks challenge for alder hey

Donation protected
Hi , my name is Martyn and I’m rainsing money for ALDER HEY children’s hospital by completing the 3 peak’s challenge

in September 2021 our little girl Jasmine decided she wanted to join us but unfortunately she was a bit too keen and came at 24 weeks and was classed as extremely premature.

she was resuscitated at birth and has had a really tough start to life , needing a number of operations to keep her with us and give her a fighting chance of survival.
she’s had to have eye surgery at great ormand street in London to save her sight and all of her other operations have been done at alder hey .
jasmines first 10 months of life were spent in hospital ,arrowe park, Liverpool womens , alder hey , great ormand street and Warrington.
The majority being at alder hey so she could be close to the surgeons there without needing to travel .

jasmine has since been diagnosed with cerebral palsy and epilepsy and alder heys continued support is unbelievable ! From the surgeons, physiotherapists , neurological team , specialist dieticians and every doctor and nurse who has looked after and continues to look after her we can’t thank them enough .

so I’m trying to raise a little bit of money for them to go towards there new neonatal unit that is being built soon as a thank you for everything they and the NHS have done for our family.

ive put a link on to alder heys website showing exactly what they are trying to build and how it will help other family’s who have to go through what we did .

this challenge will be tough for me as I’m not as fit as I was in my 20s , some would even say I’ve become overweight ( mainly Sophie)
and I suffer from herniated discs in my lower back but I am determined to complete it and will train throughout the year leading up to the event in august.

any donations would be really appreciated and will help alder hey in building there new neonatal unit .

Every pair of #TogetherforAlderHey PJs sold helps us build our new surgical neonatal unit, which will help reduce transfers between hospitals when babies are at their most vulnerable and keep families together One-year-old Jasmine was born prematurely at Arrowe Park Hospital with a rare condition called milk curd obstruction. This is where the bowel becomes inflamed and damaged and can be life-threatening. Due to the complex nature of Jasmine’s treatment, she required care at three different hospitals including here at Alder Hey, and needed to be transferred between them nine times in just 5 months Despite her difficult start to life, Jasmine is now doing ‘really well’ and is healthy at home, recovering and getting to know her sisters Jorgie and Tegan Mum Sophie said: “The staff are amazing, absolutely amazing! They really couldn’t do anything more for you. The new unit will be crucial for stressed and worried parents to know that they are able to be by the side of their sick baby straight after theatre. It’s hard seeing them so poorly and having to be transported from one place to another already being such vulnerable patients on a large amount of oxygen support.”
