3 Peaks Challenge for MacMillan and Diabetes UK!!
Donation protected
On the 22nd June, I will be completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge to raise funds for charity, specifically for MacMillan and Diabetes UK, two causes very close to my heart.
The challenge involves conquering three of Yorkshire's highest peaks – Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough – all within a single day. It's a test of endurance and determination, covering a distance of about 24 miles and ascending over 5,000 feet, and I will be doing this to help raise some money for 2 incredible charities!
MacMillan is an incredible charity providing a wide range of services to people and families affected by cancer, including emotional support, advice, financial assistance, and access to their amazing healthcare professionals, ensuring that no one faces cancer alone. This cause is close to my heart because MacMillan supported my Nana and our family until the very end. I have witnessed, and continue to witness firsthand the impact of cancer on my friends and my loved ones, so I want to contribute to the vital support MacMillan provides.
Diabetes UK, is dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by diabetes and working towards a future without the condition. They fund research to find better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for diabetes. Additionally, they provide excellent support services, important education, and they relentlessly advocate to secure more NHS funding to help ensure those with diabetes get the best care and the access to the best technology to manage their condition effectively. Diabetes has affected people close to me, particularly my wonderful partner who has suffered with Type 1 Diabetes since he was 14, and bravely battles it every day. Supporting Diabetes UK allows me to contribute to efforts that can improve his life, and the lives of millions living with diabetes.
By raising funds for both MacMillan and Diabetes UK, I hope to make a small difference, and to support those organisations that provide crucial care and assistance to those in need.
All of the funds that are raised will be split equally between MacMillan and Diabetes UK.
