Hi my name is Paula and I am funding raising for a beautiful little girl named Isabella. At only 2 months old, Isabella Grace was diagnosed with a rare form of congenital liver disease called biliary atresia. It is a disease where the bile ducts that drain bile from the liver become obstructed. It’s rare in that 1 in about 15,000 babies are diagnosed with it. She already underwent an operation called a Kasai procedure to reattach her liver to the small intestines, initially thought to have been successful. However, her liver has rapidly deteriorated that now, at 3 months old, Isabella has been listed and waits patiently for a liver transplant. Isabella remains in the Pediatric ICU due to very close monitoring. It will be about 1 month since Isabella was rushed to Mount Sinai Children’s Hospital.
Mom and Dad have been at her bedside 24/7, staying at hotels within the city. Big brother Robert has been home with his grandparents. It has been rough and a stressful situation for the entire family. Everyday we pray that she will get a liver donor soon so that she can grow up at home with her big brother.Being away from home and living in an ICU for almost a month will no doubt become a financial burden for this young family. Medical bills will add up quickly, and can become overwhelming in a situation such as this. Our goal is to help alleviate some of that stress for Maricel and Frank. Please consider donating, and understand no donation is too small or too large. And know that your kind words and continued prayers and support have been appreciated more than you know.
