Brain cancer 3brain surgery’s. Craniotomy included

Hi, I’m Lauren Gainey (wife), trying to raise money for my husbands medical bills. We are your typical blue collar family; nothing special. We have twin boys; whom we are trying to keep some sense of normalcy during all this. I have a fb account just for Garrett’s fundraising; which has more details. I will link it. To put it short; we almost lost him from hydrocephalus Monday (may2nd). A large tumor was found in his 3rd ventricle; which is rare but even rarer to see in adults. (Ofcourse Garrett had to be special and couldn’t have some normal tumor. Lol) It was deep down in the middle of the brain. Craniotomy (happened on Friday, may 6th)was the only way. Dr. Moftahkhar was able to get 90% removed; but 10% remained. We are still waiting on on the pathology reports on whether it’s cancerous or not. In the mean time they tried to see if he could go without the drain in his head. Unfortunately he did not; his icp went from 3-22; leading to the shunt surgery this morning. He’s been out of work and will be out of work for a better part of the year it seems. My hours are cut so that I can be there for my husband. Idk how we are going to swing this. I looked at craniotomy surgery alone being ~50k. That’s not including the two other surgeries he had to have. And over a week stay in the neuroscience ICU. A critical transport from Florence to Columbia.. Which has led me here. (Our current medical bill statement as of 05/22/22 is a little over $394,000…this is without chemo/radiation treatments that will begin in June).. update an additional exploratory laparotomy and another month in ICU due to septic via VP shunt.

The page I referred to earlier will also have fundraiser items to be sold to help raise money as well as details about fundraiser events. Any help is greatly appreciated. Putting our pride aside; I can admit, we do need help; we have kids depending on us. God bless. I really hope to be hearing from any of you and even just shares of the accounts would be more than a blessing to us; hoping to reach the right people (he has a rare case so maybe someone in research etc would be interested as well..) Pathology results confirmed that it is indeed cancer. Funds will now also be used for chemo/radiation

And travel everyday to get the treatment.
