As my birthday (September 2nd) approaches, I’ve been reflecting a lot on the two most important women in my life: my grandma and my daughter, Kennedy. My grandma meant the absolute world to me—we were incredibly close, and she was such a source of love, wisdom, and comfort in my life. Losing her was one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through.

What’s been even harder is knowing that Kennedy will never get the chance to meet her. It breaks my heart that they’ll never sit together, laugh together, or share those little everyday moments that I know they both would have cherished.

That’s why I’ve been dreaming of this tattoo for years. It’s a line of three elephants, each holding onto the other’s tail with their trunks. My grandma loved elephants, and to me, this design is a perfect symbol: my grandma, me, and Kennedy—connected forever. Even though they never met, their bond exists through me.

This tattoo would mean so much more than just ink on my skin. It would be a daily reminder of my grandma’s love, of her presence in my life, and of the connection that continues through Kennedy. It’s a way to keep her memory alive and honor the beautiful legacy she passed down.
