"3 Dog Rescue" is a registered non-profit organization established in the Bighorn Basin of Wyoming to provide healthcare and rehoming for unwanted dogs. We are strictly volunteers who care deeply for these dogs who have been displaced through no fault of their own. The majority need basic vetting such as spay or neuter and almost all need vaccination updates. We also include bordatella and worming before being placed into a new forever home. Some dogs have special needs and many have never had dental cleaning. We provide collars, leashes, bedding, crates, food and other essentials as needed to adoptors as well as to our fosters. Vet clinics in our area give us discounts whenever possible and we run solely off of minimal adoption fees and donations. Our vet bills alone average $2,000/month, but we manage to place more dogs per year than our two local shelters combined. We also assist our local shelters by taking special needs dogs or those that they have to turn away. We do not charge "relinquishment fees" and sometimes assist owners by paying these fees to shelters if we cannot take the dog. If you follow our Petfinder listings or follow us on Facebook you will see we cover all of northwest WY and are the only "all breeds rescue" in this state. We have a booth at the AKC Dog Show in Casper, WY each year to promote rescue, yet the only successful fundraising we do is via garage sales in Cody and various GoFundMe please for help. We are desperate for funding and are having to turn dogs away. Each dog's needs can cost from $150 up. Britt was a 12 year old purebred Yellow Lab who lived her entire life in a kennel having high-dollar puppies. She had never walked on grass or had a soft bed and clean blankets. She was spayed, had her teeth cleaned and had 3 mammory tumors removed and was with us for only 4 short months. Her vet bills exceeded $700 but she was worth our efforts. She is just one example of our losses, yet saving these lives is totally worth the debt! Please help us continue our work.
