For three days, we had no power.
Everything in our fridge spoiled, and the storm left damage behind.
At the same time, we’re caring for someone who relies on us daily. Kim, the homeowner, struggles with serious mental health challenges, and we do everything we can to keep things stable and make sure she’s taken care of.
But right now, everything is hitting at once.
We’ve been trying to recover financially from the damage and loss the storm caused, but it’s been far more difficult than we expected. Every step forward feels like something else sets us back.
On top of the storm damage, there were already urgent issues in the home that we were struggling to keep up with. We’re facing a major plumbing repair estimated at around $5,000, along with a serious rodent problem that has only gotten worse and needs immediate attention.
To make things even harder, the person who was previously living here and supposed to be helping care for Kim sold her car without her knowledge. Now she’s been hit with a $5,000 tow yard bill—something we simply cannot afford—and we’re left without reliable transportation on top of everything else.
That lack of transportation makes it incredibly difficult to get to doctor appointments, pick up medications, and handle basic daily needs.
We’re doing everything we can to hold things together, but we’ve reached a point where we need help.
Funds raised will go toward:
• Replacing the food lost during the outage
• Repairing storm-related damage and urgent home issues
• Addressing plumbing and rodent problems
• Helping resolve the unexpected tow bill
• Working toward reliable transportation so medical care and daily life don’t become impossible
Any support means more than we can put into words. Even sharing this fundraiser can make a difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping us through a really difficult moment.
