This is a heartfelt plea from a disabled, pansexual woman, her fiancé, and three cats, seeking to move for safety, financial stability, and quality of life.
About Our Cats: Cora Bear, Tyggr Grrl, and Jenkins are more than pets; they are our children. Cora Bear and Tyggr Grrl were kittens from a pregnant rescue cat. Cora Bear is a special kind of wonderful. She is as playful as a goat, squeaks like a mouse, and coos like a dove. She is normally either perched on my knee or sleeping on my hip. Tyggr Grrl is a precious, timid little creature that is scared of rain. She’s a little princess that expects to be groomed by her siblings, but her favorite place to sleep is in a box or packet. Jenkins was also a rescue kitten, is more dog-like than cat, but he also handles like a human child. If he had his own way, he would be carried around in a sling bag across my chest all day.

About Our Situation: We are currently living in an increasingly dangerous situation due to rising crime (specifically hate crimes due to race/gender), discrimination, and poverty in our remote, small town. The combination of being disabled and where we live, we are struggling with unemployment, health issues, and a lack of local support. This is why we are reaching out. We live in dilapidated housing, about a 30-minute drive away from the nearest town (if you can even call it that), with no community support or local charities.
Urgent Need for Safety: There are no emergency services at night, which is a terrifying thing to worry about if something goes wrong. Our home also does not have adequate security features to keep us safe. Living in an extremely dangerous area, this means sleepless nights, nerve-wracking days, and having to remain hidden for safety. Moving from our current situation would mean living without fear and the crippling stress it brings.
Urgent Need for Financial Stability: Moving would also mean the chance for employment, allowing us to become self-sufficient. We live in poverty as employment opportunities are non-existent mainly due to discrimination, location, and unpredictable services. Most days we struggle to keep a roof over our heads, the lights on, and food on our plates and in our cats’ bowls.
As we live so remotely, power and internet services are expensive, intermittent, and unpredictable, which adds to being disqualified for remote work. We cannot convey just how much we desire to be able to rely on our own wages to live, so we can take pride in having a job and have our dignity returned. Earning a living is something we would never take for granted.
Hope for Quality of Life: Even though I have an inherited physical disability, it does not have to stop me from working, but I have been refused the care I need. There is a serious lack of basic, adequate, indiscriminatory medical care here. Because of this, we have a very diminished quality of life. After being rejected for much-needed medical care for years, I now cannot even stand and cook a meal anymore.
✈️Moving to an area that has a proper medical facility would allow us to receive the care we need. This would not only mean freedom from being bedridden, but would also open up more employment opportunities as I would be able to sit without experiencing crippling pain. Stable employment also means that I will be able to afford basic feminine products and toiletries that I simply cannot afford.
Financial Goal and Use: To fully relocate this family, the amount we seek would help cover travel expenses, initial housing, and the required legal paperwork necessary for the move. We hope to possibly even surpass our goal to cover their day-to-day costs only so they can fully concentrate on gaining employment instead of worrying about their next meal.
If you can donate, any amount (either big or small) will make a meaningful difference. Every little bit adds up, and that’s how we may reach our goal.
For safety and privacy, our close and trusted friend is taking care of the technical details and allocation of any financial aid of this fundraiser. But also, because as mentioned above, our unpredictable power and internet services could pose potential issues to monitor the GoFundMe or have reliable means of transferring the funds.
With Love and Hope,
-S., E., and our three cats
