About 3 years ago Jake Rhodes, husband to my beautiful friend Tanya, and father to the amazing Parker, faced a kidney transplant after years of suffering through various symptoms and then ultimately dialysis until he found a donor in his very own sister. The family pulled through and after the transplant life went on and they even found out they were expecting again! Along came Hunter who brightened their lives with hope for what the future held.
Here we are a year and half later and Jake is back in the hospital, which he has been in and out of for the past 4 months. He has malabsorbtion, lethargic, and is on a nutrition bag 12 hours of the day and over the past months has lost more weight than he could spare. His blood count and platelets are low and he continues to decline. While his current health problems seem unrelated to his transplant, the doctors at the Mayo Clinic are baffled as to why his health is failing. As they continue to test him for everything under the sun, his unbelievably strong wife and mother to his children holds it all together. They can use any help they can get in paying the mounting medical bills and all the support our community can muster. Please help me in helping my dear friend who I consider one of the most unbelievable people I know.
This is your call to arms St. Augustine. Tanya was hesitant to let me help them in this way and now I ask for yoour help. It's time to show what this family oriented community is really all about!
