Lucas’ Stem Cell Autism Treatment.
Donation protected
My lovely son Lucas needs your help. Lucas was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder ASD when he was 18th months old. Before Lucas turned 1 year old, he was reaching his milestones and was a healthy boy.
At around 14 month old, something strange happened, it was like something in him suddenly disconnected. He stopped answering to his name, he stopped interacting with family and friends, he started stimming and behaving in an unusual way for what one would expect from development at that age. At around the 18-month mark I received his diagnosis and our whole world shifted.
From that moment I have worked with doctors and therapists have tried to improve his well- being with an array of different therapies, diets, biomedical treatments, which have had slow but very minimal progress. Lucas will be six years old in July. He is extremely impulsive and needs constant care around the clock. He is highly allergic to almost all foods and goes for days without eating a solid meal; perhaps he is in pain with constipation and other severe digestion problems. He continues to be nonverbal and not toilet trained. He goes to school every day, but sadly instead of progressing, in the last months we are seeing some regression in his cognitive abilities. He is getting aggressive, has no sense of danger, running and touching things without fear. I am trying my best to help his development, but nothing seems to be working.
The love for my son is such that in my search to help him, I have researched multiple treatments; one of them being the stem-cell therapy for children on the autism spectrum. There have been multiple stories of success in the autism community where kids who have received this kind of treatment have seen wonderful changes like:
• Improved digestion and increased food tolerance.
• Friendlier and more consistent eye contact (this therapy helps children with autism to begin
fixing their gaze).
• Decreased hyperactivity and aggression.
• Improved verbal communication skills, listening, compulsive motor behavior, and repetitive
behavior.
• Increased attention span and concentration.
• Enhanced motor and self-improvement skills.
• Reduced anxiety related to strangers, bright light, loud noises, and fear of unfamiliar places.
• Improved sleep patterns.
I have hope that this treatment can improve Lucas’ quality of life, especially his verbal communication skills, anxiety and concentration so he can start being more independent and continue being the happy boy he is.
Unfortunately, this kind of treatment is not available in the United States. For this reason we would have to travel to a reputable clinic specializing in this treatment in Costa Rica or Panama. The cost of this treatment depends on the amount of stem cells needed and due to Lucas’ severity, the cost can be up to $36,000.
I know it sounds like an impossible goal to reach, especially being that I am a single mother who already struggles to provide for the everyday necessities, let alone the special needs that my lovely Lucas has today. It's really humbling and uncomfortable to ask for financial help and I never thought about doing it but I want to do everything that is possible to give Lucas the life he deserves.
From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate any donation you can make for my Lucas. A little goes a long way.
If you cannot donate, please help us by praying for him. I believe that with the power of prayer, God can move mountains.
Sincerely,
Andrea Mom of lovely Lucas
