Donation protected
We are Vancouver Film School students are making our final project short film production that will begin shooting in late July 2021. Our film will tell the true story of a young woman named VICTORIA
Synopsis: When a young woman goes to visit her mother in the hospital, she meets her long-lost aunt, Victoria, who ran away from her family to escape an arranged marriage at 15.
Victoria tells her story to her niece from a hospital bed in 1994 and we travel back in time to 1932, Mexico City.
Religious beliefs and ideals shape the life of their daughters, Victoria and Concha. Counting on them to marry a Jewish man for reputation and wealth. However, Victoria wants an education and to work at her uncle's leather factory.
This story is about female empowerment and choosing to break away from what is expected of you to live the life you want even if that means leaving your loved ones behind. Our team will be so grateful for any help we can get to make Victoria's story come to life on-screen.
