Kicking Blue Cell Tumor's butt!!

Last month, Alex started having intense abdominal pain. He felt a lot of discomfort but we didn’t think anything serious. Maybe he ate something he shouldn’t have or hurt himself carrying something.

After a couple of weeks, the pain was intense, he couldn’t take it anymore and went to Urgent Care. As soon as they checked him, he was sent immediately to the ER to get a CAT scan. When the results came back, doctors found a 25cm mass in his abdomen, pushing on all of his organs. This mass was serious so they proceeded with a Laparoscopy to take a sample of the fluid and the mass so they could proceed to examine it.

The result wasn’t good. The latest results we got said that he has a “Desmoplastic small round blue cell tumor”. We went to see an oncologist and she told us we needed to stop the growth ASAP with chemo. Now he’s facing 2 rounds of chemo and if we’re lucky that mass will stop growing and shrink.

When he’s done with those chemo rounds we don’t know what’s going to happen. More chemo? Surgery? We all know how expensive medical attention is, and even if we have insurance, it’s not enough. Especially since, sadly, he will be missing so much work.

A little bit about him:

· He’s 30 years old

· Loves soccer (Barcelona is his favorite team)(I hope this doesn’t make him get less donations :D )

· Mexican (Yes, he loves tacos!)

· Chef/Lawyer/Working in Logistics (and he loves it!)

· Hard worker/Compassionate/Amazing person/Very interesting/Smart/Good listener

· The best husband I could have ever asked for (3 years 09/14 )
