My name is Deborah Sanders. I am the wife of the late, but still wonderful, man pictured above. John was a veteran who served his country with honor. He chose to celebrate the 2016 Veteran's Day by joining the other veterans who had crossed over before him. John was a loving husband who provided for his family until he suffered a stroke that eventually led to him being bedridden. We lived frugally on our joint Social Security but there was little to nothing left each month for savings. It took a week after John's passing before I got information from Social Services that they would cover the cost of his funeral and burial in a local cemetery. John's family and I would like to have John interred in a military cemetery but that requires us to raise the funds. John and I had always been private people who made our way as best we could without asking for help. My desire to see John receive the military honor he deserves has lead me to publicly ask for help by reaching out to our community. Any amount will be most greatly appreciated.
