Teacher Regain Stolen Items
Donation protected
I'm a Special Education, high school English teacher in Southern California. I love my job and my whole life revolves around me being a teacher and my love for my students. I live my life with integrity and aim to inspire leadership.
On Thursday, I left my classroom in Southern California and drove to Northern California with the hope that I can see my old students I used to work with. I took Friday off so I could see them all day and catch up. I arrived in Oakland late Thursday night and went to bed immediately. Friday morning, I woke up to find that my car had been vandalized, my laptop and other expensive, personal items had been stolen.
Thousands of dollars... hundreds of memories, and countless meaningful things were taken. Including my teacher ID. I wish the person who stole the item saw that I was a teacher.
I wish that person could understand that I want to help. That I reserve judgement and believe in everyone. That had he or she come to me, I would have offered them assistance too.
As a teacher, I don't have money to replace the stolen items for some time. And my work will suffer since I cannot plan my lessons or communicate without my computer. I'll figure out ways around this since I do not want my students to suffer, but as you can imagine... this is difficult for me.
Please help me. Please help me pay for my laptop and other items that were taken. I cannot replace the memories that were taken, but I will remember how you helped me in this difficult time. And that means so much to me. I'm grateful.
Thank you,
-Valerie Vargas (Ms. Vee)
