Tornado Destroyed My Mom's House
Donation protected
On March 31st, 2023, Little Rock, Arkansas was greatly impacted by one of the most devastating tornadoes of the year and the last decade leaving hundreds of people in distress from losing their homes and possessions as well as surviving such a violent storm. One of the many affected was my Mom, Barbara Williams, of Walnut Valley, who selflessly acted as a Good Samaritan in the neighborhood that showed generosity and passion to all those around her with gifts and letters to keep the sense of community strong.
On that chaotic Friday, Barbara’s house was demolished into rubble, shards of glass, and wood by the brutal Tornado that touched down in Little Rock while she protected herself and her great-granddaughter during such a distressing experience. Barbara lost most of her homely possessions, as well as precious items that symbolize memories from her departed mother, the oldest son, the house itself, leaving only wet insulation, and long-gone memories of the traumatic event that devastated the entire neighborhood. We are grateful for Barbara and Aubrey being able to tell their story and continue to show up as resilient survivors that support everyone in the community.
Today we are asking that you all help support her in the efforts to restore some of her lost items with donations, help with hotel fees from displacement, moving supplies, and other resources that could help rebuild Barbara’s life again. Anything and everything counts toward our 15,000 dollar goal during such a tragic time. If you have the desire and ability to financially bless a family in need, any donation would be greatly appreciated for her! Thank you all so much.
