Hello, my name is Mitch Dauphinais and I am a boy scout in Troop 82. I became a part of the troop in 2018 when I was in 5th grade and stayed in the troop, gradually advancing, until today where I am a Life scout and Scout leader. Boy Scouts have taught me many things over the years like responsibility, humility, trustworthiness, and leadership all of which culminates into my Eagle Project.

For the project, I am collaborating with a charity called The Birthday Party Project. The Birthday Party Project is a charity that raises money and puts on birthdays for homeless children. We take for granted our birthdays, but for a homeless child that is a luxury they couldn't imagine, which is where The Birthday Party Project comes in to give them that experience and hopefully have a positive influence for the child. So far they have organized over 2,500 birthday parties and have celebrated over 19,000 children. The reason I decided to partner with them was because of my firsthand experience of a kids face light up when they see their birthday party and the about of joy that this charity provides to the children convinced me that this is a good organization to which I could devote my eagle project.

My Eagle Project will involve supporting one of their partner agencies, The Interfaith Family Services. This organization empowers families in crisis to breakout of the cycle of poverty. I will be leading a Christmas party for the children and helping to stock the Christmas Closet for kids and parents. The Christmas party for all the kids will not only provide them with the joy and happiness they otherwise wouldn't experience on Christmas, but also provide gifts for both children and parents to help make their holiday special. Any additional funds I raise, will be donated to Interfaith Family Services so they can continue to meet the needs of these families while also allowing the Christmas party to become an annual event. I also want to raise awareness of this organization so it can become bigger and help more children.

In order for me to do this, I need your help. My goal is to raise $2500 to create the party, buy the gifts and create additional funds.
