Dan Kalish's Fight Against Cancer

Friends: Most of you are not aware that Dan Kalish was recently diagnosed with cancer. Dan was diagnosed with Stage 4, large-cell Neuroendocrine cancer which has spread throughout his body. Dan is married to Jennifer Kalish (Straube) and is the father of two. We all know Dan as a fun-loving, generous person whose unselfishness and willingness to help others are attributes which make Dan such a special friend to all of us. It's likely Dan's unselfish attitude that led him to privately engage in this fight against cancer. But now it's time for us to help. It's with great strength and grace that Dan has handled this diagnosis. To the best of his ability, Dan spends time with his wife and their newborn son, Jake (18 months) in Arizona. Dan also spends as much time as possible communicating with close friends and family who still reside in Ohio. Dan has made repeated efforts to work despite the diagnosis; however, the illness and aggressive treatments have progressed to the point where that's no longer possible. Jennifer has also taken extended leave from work to be by Dan's side during this difficult time. The time away from work, coupled with the compounding medical bills, have hit hard. Members of Dan and Jen's immediate family are doing everything possible to help ease the financial burden and care for Jake while Dan is routinely in-and-out of the hospital. Despite these efforts, the financial burden is growing. Because they would never ask for help themselves, we are reaching out to you, our family, friends, classmates, co-workers, and our community at large in the hopes that you can find it in your hearts to help Dan and Jennifer. All donated funds will go to Jennifer to assist with bills and expenses.
