11/6/16 Eric was experiencing an exruciating headache and drove himself to the ER. He was diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm and quickly moved to ICU for further testing.
Dr. DeCosta (whom we love and pray for as well) scheduled surgery. Eric was very alert, able to communicate as usual, with light sedation in an effort to keep him comfortable
Surgery began at 8:30 am, approximately 2 hours into the surgery, Eric's brain started swelling and the procedure was abandoned in an effort to control the swelling.
He is currently in a medically induced coma and intubated in an effort to allow his body to rest. They have shared with us that this will be a long road to recovery.
Eric's son Alex needs your prayers, love, and support as well!
We are raising funds to supplement his income while he is unable to work. This will be used to secure his home, car, medical bills, etc...
So many people care for Eric and have expressed that they want to help. This is the best way possible to help Eric and Alex through this crisis.
Eric, Alex, and their extended family would like to express their appreciation for all the support, words of encouragement, visits to the hospital, phone calls, texts... All of this means so much! Your love and friendship are invaluable at this time.
