Our Story
InspireONE is a nonprofit based in Humboldt County, California. Over the past four years we have sent teams of volunteers to teach English and do community projects with village groups in Buikwe, Uganda. We have sent over 30 volunteers to Uganda and have provided over 85,000 meals to the school children. We are partnered with Village Support Network, a grassroots nonprofit based in Buikwe that supports the community and a school, Hamilton Elementary. Hamilton Elementary is an under resourced school with orphans and vulnerable children.
Hamilton Elementary
Hamilton Elementary School has a 100 students that are Pre K-4th grade. In 2015, InspireONE partnered with Hamilton Elementary.
Since our partnership InspireONE has provided:
-A roof over unfinished structures
-Put in a rainwater collection system
-Built a fence around the school for the safety of the students
-Painted the school
-Annually provide basic classroom resources like pens, notebooks, chalk, etc.
-Started a lunch program that has provided 85,000 meals for students
-Donated over 300 "Shoes That Grow" to the students
The Cause
Recently the InspireONE team has received unfortunate news that the school property is going to be sold. However, we have a chance to save the school if we raise $10,000 to purchase the land before February 1st. We know this is a tall task but this school is very important to the vulnerable population of Buikwe. If sold, these children will be at loss of an education.
Our goal
Our goal is to raise $10,000 by January 31st to save the school from being sold. We have supported this school for years and do not want to see all these children lose their education. As Christine Gregoire put, “education is the foundation upon which we build our future.” Our goals are providing education to under resourced communities and it is important to keep these children in school! Help spread the word!
