Emily's Future

This is Emily. Emily lost her mom, Rachel Malo May, on October 5, 2021, in Craig, Colorado.

Emily turned eight the day before her mom slipped through that veil that separates the soul from matter.

Emily is a twice special girl; she is very bright and precocious, and she also works very hard to overcome all of the obstacles thrown in her way due to hearing loss. A born leader, she's one of the strongest little girls I know. She's always concerned about other people and she doesn't forget anyone.

Emily is Rachel (and Jerry's) only child and the light of her life. Going forward, Rachel will be unable to help out with Emily's finances, and it would mean a lot to her if the rest of us step up and watch out for Emily. It was important to Rachel that Emily have opportunities, and she isn't going to be around to pay those college bills that are coming up in just a few more years.

This fund is linked to an account set up by Rachel's family for Emily's future college fund.

If you wish to donate to a memorial fund to help cover immediate expenses for Rachel--there will be funeral expenses, hospital bills, and some near-future costs for Emily's hearing aids and therapy--a separate fund is being set up at Yampa Valley Bank and should be ready to accept donations by early next week (2nd week of October, 2021.) We'll share that information when we get it. Nothing we give can bring Rachel back to her husband, Jerry, or her daughter, Emily, but we can help ease the financial burden.
