Brenda And Willy Nitsch's Emergency

Donation protected
I am J (Jennifer Nielsen), Brenda and Willy Nitsch's sister-in-law. Willy was in a horrible accident at his home in his workshop that left him unconscious throughout the night. When he lost consciousness and fell, he lay on the cement with his left leg pressed against a space heater throughout the night. When he was found in the morning he was rushed to the local emergency room, where they immediately transferred him to the University of Iowa hospital in Iowa City. He has been in ICU there from Friday until today (Monday) when he was finally stabilized enough to be transferred to the burn unit. He has 3rd degree burns over 7% of his body and will lose most of the tissue on his outer left leg. His first surgery is tentatively scheduled for this Wednesday to start removing tissue and getting him prepared to receive donor tissue. There will be several surgeries in the near future for him. His wife of 25 years, Brenda, is staying at the hospital with him and will be missing work for an unknown amount of time. Brenda's sister, Chris is staying at the hospital too, able to telecommute for work. I am currently living at Willy and Brenda's house caring for their dogs. This is hard for all of us to ask, but we are going to need so much help. We have to find a way to keep up on Willy and Brenda's utility, power, water, and vehicle insurance bills, keep their furry children fed and cared for, and we are all horrified to even try to imagine what the medical bills are going to look like. If you are able to help at all, we would be so grateful! Even if you are unable to contribute, if you could just share this link on your Facebook, twitter, or any other social networks, getting the word out would be amazing! We love our family so much. We are doing everything we can to support them, be with them, and make everything run as smoothly as possible while they are staying on the burn unit. Any help, love, positive messages, prayers, and good thoughts we can get right now would be amazing! Willy and Brenda are amazingly kind people. The sooner they can get back on their feet, the better! Thank you and love to you all! J and Chris Nielsen-Buckley, Brenda, and Willy Buckley-Nitsch.
