Cross Canada Hike
On June 2, 2017, I begun my greatest adventure ever- solo thru-hiking across Canada. Yes, all the way across. I am talking about 18,000+ km on the Great Trail, from the Atlantic to the Arctic to the Pacific Ocean.
For those, who are not familiar with this trail: The Great Trail is the longest recreational trail in the world (24,000 km long) and celebrated its fully connection on August 26th, 2017. You can learn more about the trail here: www.thegreattrail.com
I am currently more than one year and 10 months over 8000 km into my hike.
I have walked trough Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, PEI, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario and I am now hiking through the beautiful province of Manitoba.
Initially, I planned that my journey would take two years to complete, but it has become clear that in all likelihood, it will now take closer to three years in total.
Since March, 2019 I am joined by Malo, a lab/husky mix and adventurer just like me. His journey can be followed on Instagram under @followmalo
This page is for those who love to follow and support us in our journey. Your donations will essentially help to offset some costs for food, the occasional shelter (during the Winter months), to replace essential gear for me and the dog and maybe to cover a vet bill if need to be.
Thanks so much for stopping by and considering to share, follow and support my journey.
Your kindness is much appreciated.
Happy trails,
Malo & Mel
