Following Rob’s accident in a triathlon in 2018 that left him paralyzed from the chest down, Rob and Visala have re- channeled their lives to help uplift and support those with spinal cord injury ( SCI) and their families.
They have been actively doing this over the past 3 years and will be launching their James SCI Foundation in 2023 with 2 focus areas.
First, to help young high potential talents with spinal cord injuries to get meaningful careers in Fortune 500 companies. This is a major challenge today with many barriers and disincentives preventing real opportunities for deserving young men and women.
Second, when someone suffers a spinal cord injury it can effect the entire family network with challenges such as long term care, financial support. emotional support, availability of healthcare expertise.
The stress of helping support or care for a person paralyzed by a spinal cord injury is immense and existing services differ by country and are fragmented and not always available to the people who desperately need them.
Based on our experience before and after Robs accident we feel uniquely positioned and are hugely motivated to tackle both these areas and with your help make a positive difference.
