Someone we all love left us this week. For the last arc of her life she was very sick, requiring tremendous amounts of care and help. Our home became a hospice, a visiting room, and ultimately a gateway. Though much of the treatment was covered the costs became too much and my Mother depleted her resources for her burial and services and we instead focused on caregivers to make her last weeks easier. It was the right decision but not it is time to perform the last act.The burial. The organist for the mass she wanted. The donation for the church for the service. The remainder owes the caregivers.People have asked how they could help. This is the way. She didn't want flowers, she decided to be cremated and have this sort of service. Catherine did the due diligence and this is where it stands.
If we exceed the number to cover the costs, the surplus will go the cancer charity of Mom's choosing.
