Landon's Blessing Fund

l am a person that is close to a wonderful family with a very sick little boy. Landon's mom Terri is a teacher at the school where I work and Landon is a student there. Landon has idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Essentially, Landon's body produces too much cerebral fluid (the fluid surrounding the brain) and he is not able to drain it off naturally like somone without this disease. This causes severe pain, possible blindness, hearing loss and a host of other symptoms. Landon has had 10-12 spinal taps, spinal surgery to put in a lumbar shunt, two lumbar revisions (more spinal surgery), 5 ICP monitors (they drill a hole into his skull and brain to feed a catheter in the brain to measure pressure, two EVDs (external shunts to drain fluid off the brain), two VP shunts with two revisions, a MRSA staff infection and much more. His latest struggle is possibly having Slit Ventricle Syndrome where the ventricles in his brain have collapsed which would keep his shunt from being able to effectivley drain the excess fluid.
You can imagine how taxing this disease has been on this family both emotionally and financially. Landon is not the only child in this special family. He is one of 8 children. They are a close knit, God fearing family whose faith has gotten them through times that most of us cannot begin to imagine! Through all of this their faith grows stronger and is unwavering.
The purpose of this Gofundme account is to raise money for Landon's medical bills so that the financial burden on this family is no longer something they have to waste energy worrying about. This family is still paying for surgeries that happened months and months ago so the funds are needed immediately.
Landon's mom Terri teaches third grade. She is not your ordinary teacher. She is truly gifted and has the skill to build relationships and connections with her students above and beyond anyone I have ever met! She has been gone from school for several days due to Landon's latest hospitalization and her children miss her terribly. One of her students was really struggling and having a terrible day. When she finally opened up to me she began to sob and say she didn't want her teacher to leave!! When I sent Terri a text to ask if she had a moment to visit with a student she didn't hesitate to reply, "yes maam!" I face timed her in her son's hospital room and she had the kindest, sweetest conversation with the student that ended with, I love you! The child replied, "I love you too!" This is just one of the many stories I could tell about Terri that shows just how gifted she is. She gives so much to everyone around her and we want to do everything we can to support her and her family in return.
Words cannot express how thankful I will be for this precious family to receive this financial blessing! All I can say is, THANK YOU!!
