I’m creating this go fund me page in hopes to help support my good friend Siobhan and her family. They certainly could use all the good vibes, prayers and support as they have been through hell and back for the past 11 weeks.

On Saturday, August 26th while vacationing in North Conway, NH with her family to celebrate her daughter's 6th birthday Siobhan, who was 31 weeks pregnant with her 2nd daughter was rushed to ER with excruciating stomach pain. This was something that she unfortunately had been experiencing on and off throughout her pregnancy and after minimal tests and a lot of unanswered questions she was told this “pregnancy pain” was something unexplained and so she thought she just had to deal with it for the rest of her pregnancy.

After some initial tests in the ER the medical team made the decision to move her to a bigger hospital that could handle her condition. She was transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland. If you talk to Siobhan she will tell you that is the last thing she remembers between 8/26- 9/5.

What they discovered was her small intestine had gotten wrapped around her colon and with her baby growing, it pinched off the small intestine causing an obstruction. Doctors said when they picked up her intestines they basically disintegrated in his hands.

With this life threatening emergency, doctors had to perform an emergency c-section to deliver the baby 9 weeks early. Kerrigan was born on 8/27/23 weighing 2.9lbs. Doctors quickly did everything they could to repair the damage but they couldn’t achieve that in just 1 surgery. Siobhan was put in a medically induced coma for about 6 days until her body could recover to withstand 2 more additional surgeries. This was especially a scary time for her family as they didn’t know if she would even make it through these surgeries.

Siobhan spent 61 days in the hospital recovering from her traumatic surgeries. Not being able to eat, having to deal with the pain of her abdomen still being open and covered by a wound vac, and her newborn baby in the NICU with just short visits with Mom, Siobhan was not only physically drained and exhausted but mentally this really took a toll on her. Being almost 2 hours away from her family in another state, her 6 year old having to be passed between family members to help normalize her life while this was all going on, and her husband up in Maine to be with her and their newborn.

On October 26th Siobhan was finally discharged and sent home with a bag to help drain the wound in preparation for her final surgery which they initially expected wouldn't happen until January. Finally being in her own home she had to navigate not being able to do much to help with her children and being on a “dressing” schedule for her wound and drain. Siobhan felt the joy of finally being out of the hospital but yet still defeated for her medical challenges were far from being over.

A week after she came home, she unfortunately had another incident and was rushed to the hospital again. They discovered another blockage causing her pain and discomfort. She is currently back at Maine Medical Center with the medical team that knows her case. Right now, she knows she needs another surgery but it’s unclear when that is happening.

Siobhan’s husband has been out of work during this time and with the lack of finances coming in, especially before the holidays this family is in need of your help. Please if you feel called to donate I know they would appreciate it. And please share this campaign on your social media pages to help spread the word. Thank you so much!
