On August 28 , Jenna MacDonald and Shane Cameron welcomed their precious first-born son, Callum James, into the world. This young family’s immediate joy however, has quickly turned into a journey of overwhelming anxiety and despair as young Callum was diagnosed with DiGeorge Syndrome and has been desperately fighting for his life since birth.
Unfortunately, as part of his condition, Callum was born with serious heart defects and on Monday, September 12th, he will undergo his third heart surgery at the IWK Hospital in Halifax. Fortunately, his indomitable spirit and will to survive has served him well to date and we continue to be optimistic as we all pray for his recovery.
As friends and family members of Jenna and Shane, we believe it is time to solicit support in relieving some of the mounting financial pressures on this young couple. Our support will go far in allowing them to continue to focus their full efforts on Callum’s recovery and, with further surgeries and travel to and from Cape Breton to Halifax as well as a possible medical transfer to Toronto on the horizon, Jenna and Shane will require some financial assistance in order to ensure they can remain at their boy’s side throughout these early challenges.
Anything you are able to contribute in this regard will go a long way in assisting this family, clearly showing they are not alone as they face the difficult and challenging road ahead. Thank you before hand for opening your hearts and offering to help Callum James, our little fighter.
