My dearest family, friends and community members, I'm writing this note with a heavy heart. (No pun intended) Our precious, funny, sweet, loving son, brother, and friend Eric is in need of a heart transplant. Yes, you read correctly. We thought this is the type of thing you only hear about in the movies. But this is very real for our family. Eric's Echo Cardiogram indicate that his Cardiac myopathy is worsening. His tender heart is only functioning at 40% . His heart is failing to function from the inside out. The doctors, which range from Florida, South Carolina to New York have all agreed, he needs to be placed on the "List". Since he is 17 yrs old, he would be placed on a pediatric list which takes first priority before an adult. Then, its about one year of weekly testing just to make sure that the organ is not being rejected by his body. With this being said, we need your help with any donation that you can. None too big or too small. This will assist with all the medical cost, medicine, etc. This incident has definitely humbled and paralyzed us as a family. But with all the thoughts and prays, and help from everyone it makes it slightly easier to get through this tough time. This has opened our eyes that no one is exempt from a life threatening illness.
