Help Kitt walk again!

Kitt passed the rainbow bridge on 6/2/2023.
This is Kitt. We don’t know her real name. She was hit by two cars on I-95 by Atlantic ave in Delray on March 20th. She was brought in by a tourist who couldn’t fathom how cars kept passing her after she was first hit. The good samaritan tried bringing her to other, closer animal hospitals first but was told they couldn’t help. Lund animal hospital took her in. Dr. Lund placed an IV, stabilized her, and hoped she would survive the night as the extent of her injuries were not yet known. It was a miracle, she survived the night. No one claimed her, no one even reported her lost. She wasn’t spayed or microchipped. All she had was a dirty collar but no one that loved her enough to care that she was gone. For the next few weeks, we’ve managed her pain and paralysis. We took xrays, and saw multiple pelvic fractures and issues with her neck vertebrae. While her demeanor has improved and she’s become slightly more agile, she’s still unable to walk and constantly moves her head to one side. Dr. Reese of Southeast Vet Neurology stepped forward to help. They performed an MRI which revealed 2 dislocated vertebrae. She shouldn’t be alive. Her spinal cord is pinched and part of her skull is fractured, yet she persists. Kitt’s journey from here on out will not be easy. She may never walk again. But, as a roughly 2 or 3-year-old little girl who has endured so much, she still manages to eat and give kisses. We can’t give up on her yet as she has so much life left to live. We are trying to raise money for her surgeries, an atlantoaxial luxation stabilization surgery and a pelvic surgery. In all her pain, she has never tried to bite. She has never growled. She has cried with tears in her eye as she licks your face. Please help us help her live the life she was meant to. 100% of all donations will go directly toward the all vet bills, mainly the massive surgeries she needs to fix her vertebrae and her pelvis.
