Expense Funds for Bobby & Aggie

Hello, my name is Lisa Pereira and I work with Bobby Gentle at Guarino's & South Shore Gunite Pool & Spas, Inc. in Billerica.

Bobby (aka Boob, or Boobie) has been an employee of Guarino Swimming Pool Service for some 25+ years. He is one of our most experienced technicians. Anyone who knows Bobby knows how committed he is to doing a good job, making sure the customer is happy, and goes out of his way to do the job right. He takes pride in his work and goes the extra mile to find a solution to problems. He is the type of person that will help somebody out when they're struggling and can't quite figure things out. He is a very kindhearted gentle soul who cares deeply about his friends.

As some of you may know Bobby was in a head on motor vehicle accident on Friday, August 19 on his way to work. Bobby suffered some major injuries including a shattered hip (his bionic hip), fractured the other (good hip), a broken ankle and multiple internal injuries.

Since Friday, Bobby has had two operations to repair internal damage caused from the accident. He will need several more surgeries in the coming months to get things straightened out. He will most likely need months of physical therapy to get him back on his feet.

Bobby lives in Baldwinville with his long time girlfriend Aggie and dog Bear. Aggie had just started a new job recently after being out of the workforce for a short time. The night before the accident he came to me and showed me a flyer, he opened it up and inside was a picture of Aggie. He was so proud of her and all that she's accomplished. Retraining is hard, she did it and was on her way in this new adventure. Living on one paycheck can certainly be a challenge, I'm sure there were some struggles but I never once heard him complain. He was always optimistic & he said he would always find a way to work through things.

Working in the Swimming Pool business is of course seasonal and you must plan for the winter time. I know the winter months were always the toughest. Waiting for unemployment to kick in after the end of the pool season is tough. It sometimes can be a long wait before your first unemployment check comes in. He used to tell me how he would go shopping and buy a ton of groceries in one huge bulk purchase. He said he pre-planned the whole shopping trip so he would get the best value. But this is something he never planned on. This is the beginning of closing season, which meant the beginning of safety cover season & Bobby is one of our best and most experienced installers. He would work right up until the first snowfall and in some cases have to work through the snow and shovel decks just to get the job done. He'd be a little grumpy about it but he would get the job done. So knowing that his season has come to an abrupt end due to this accident & with the permission of Aggie & his family, we decided to set up this go fund me account to help them get through the long road to recovery.

We are hoping to raise some extra money to help them get through the long road ahead without any added stress with the loss of any income. I'm sure it'll be sometime before any disability benefits comes in or insurance money comes in.   This is to help them get through this until it all gets sorted out.

All money raised through this go fund me account will go directly to Bobby & Aggie for them to to decide where could be best used. Whether it be making sure the mortgage gets paid, paying the utilities, putting food on the table or simply getting to and from appointments.
