STORY: Hi all, I’m reaching out for help from my community as my cat Milo, who I’ve raised since childhood and care for alone, is in urgent need of a cystotomy, a surgery to remove bladder stones that are threatening his life. About two months ago, Milo suffered a partial urinary blockage. These blockages are fatal within 24–48 hours if left untreated. I caught it early, and we treated it. But despite being on medication, Milo fully blocked not long after. Since then, he’s blocked four times, twice just this past week. After an ultrasound, vets discovered stones in his bladder. These stones are now believed to be the root cause of the repeated blockages. To prevent future life threatening emergencies, Milo’s medical team is strongly recommending a cystotomy to remove the stones and give him a real shot at recovery. Since this ordeal began, I’ve spent around $17,000 on emergency visits, tests, medications, and procedures including the upcoming surgery. I’m a 23-year-old student juggling work, school, rent, and bills. This is a financial burden unlike anything I’ve faced before, and it’s brought me to a place I never thought I’d be: asking for help. But I’ll fight for Milo indefinitely. That’s what it means to love an animal. He’s more than a pet.. he’s my best friend, my emotional support, and my family. He’s been with me since middle school and has seen me through depression, grief, growth, everything. He has saved me in ways I cannot explain. Now, I want to do everything I can to save him
I’m seeking support to cover the cost of Milo’s cystotomy:
• $3,000 – Surgery and anesthesia
• $300 – Follow-up care and pain medication
• $200 – Emergency visits
• $200 – Prescription food and ongoing dietary needs
Total: $3,700 (not including tax)
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping if you’re able. Even sharing this would mean the world to us. Milo is the most loving, gentle, chunky little guy and he deserves the chance to live pain-free. With love and gratitude, Brooke and Milo
