Recent update - Dennis had bloods and fluids taken today to be sent off to Glasgow for testing. This will determine is it is FIP or another underlying condition.

The Vet did comment it was bloody fluid and didn't look like fluid associated with FIP. We will find out in a few days.

After surviving FIP , cats can have other issues down the line , as it really puts stress on their system.

If tests come back negative for FIP, more tests will need to be carried out .

As you can guess , they're very expensive.

With him only being a year old this is definitely not expected and has been incredibly stressful and not only emotionally draining, but financially too.

So, again I must express my gratitude to all who has been kind enough to donate so far.

There is still a long way to go in regards to testing and medication. Therefore I'm asking anyone with any spare amount of change , doesn't matter how little , it will all add up and help us get him sorted .

Hi there,

This is incredibly hard for me to do as I'm a very proud person and feel incredibly guilty asking for help. However , I now really need it .

Over the last 2 years I had 2 miscarriages and it hit me hard . I was struggling mentally . So, I decided to rescue a little fur baby to help comfort me through my healing and also offer a fur baby in need a home .

That was Dennis . We couldn't agree on a name but it soon became clear, he was a mischievous character , and so he was named. Dennis the menace.

He's also a very loving cat and has developed an amazing friendship with my Staffie , Roxy . They play together, it's hilarious.

In June this year Dennis became very bloated with fluid and rushed to the vets . Tests showed he had feline coronavirus that they suspected had mutated to FIP. Normally that would mean he wouldn't make it, but we were told there was new medication that cures it , however it was thousands of pounds per bottle . We thought it was game over until we came across a very knowledgeable charity who guided us and helped us immensely.

The medication is now available for approximately £400 per bottle. And they funded the first bottle . Which gave us a head start to help save him.

After initial tests £900 , plus 3 more bottles , consultations and bloods , I used all savings , borrowed money and used all I could, to get him to the end of the treatment.

He recovered, his bloods were clear , he bounced back and was happy and well again. It really is a miracle medication!

However, he had some fluid that just wouldn't shift and this was concerning .

I hoped and prayed he'd be ok, but unfortunately he's began to bloat with fluid again and has had a relapse.

A specislised test is recommended before more treatment is given , to make sure he is treated correctly. This needs to be done asap if he has chance of surviving.

We came so far and he significantly improved. ( if you research FIP , that's good news ) he made it!

I think , he has every hope of making it , if we just get to the bottom of the fluid not clearing. Hence this test .

So, this is why I'm asking for help. I don't have much funds. as I was totally wiped out with his first diagnosis. Once the test is done , he'll need more treatment , and immediately. I have no time to save unfortunately.

I'd be devastated to see him go , so young ( 1 year) after what he's already been through and overcome.

He's amazing and my baby. I can't explain how much I love him and what he means to me , and my family.

I would be so very grateful for any help towards his care and medication, to finally get him fully recovered.
