Hello everyone!
We are asking for support with getting Honey the medical care she needs. In May, Honey came to Canada from Turkey to seek a more peaceful life through the lovely people at Love at Last Rescue based in YVR.
In Turkey, Honey faced life threatening challenges through homelessness, inconsistent access to food and water and physical abuse from both humans and other dogs. During a visit to the animal hospital as a result, they completed a spay for her around 6 months.
Fast forward to her life here in Canada, she experiences daily challenges with intense fear regarding humans, loud noises and unfamiliar routines. Though we’ve been able to help supplement relief from this fear with the help of our veterinary team, she now faces another medical emergency.
Honey is experiencing severe internal infections that are impacting her ability to gain the weight she needs, adjust to her new Canadian life and continue to build confidence and claim space in the world around her. It is suspected that her spay was only partially complete, leaving her with a stump pyometra. A stump pyometra is an intense hormonal infection that requires surgery. Without it, her life is threatened and her existence right now is very uncomfortable.
We are grateful to anyone who is willing to be a part of Honey’s journey. We understand times are tough for everyone right now and your kindness is not unseen.
